Statement:
Rediscovering forgotten meanings of old symbols and pictograms of worldwide mythical themes. Trying to show our similarities and blurring the differences when it comes to believes through syncretism and cultural exchange. All this using all the media at my grasp.
Redescubriendo el mensaje de antiguos símbolos y pictogramas de temas mitológicos de todo el mundo. Mostrando nuestras similitudes y difuminando nuestras diferencias religiosas a través del sincretismo y relación entre culturas. Todo ello utilizando todo medio que me sea posible.
Summary:
We have more in common than we think. Syncretism. Cultures manage to forget their differences in cultural intercourse and work together seeking a commonwealth. This is going to be the axis of my work. How myths play a fundamental part in the history of humankind, and all the art that once throb in them. And that still does. Also, present the structuralism methodology as the font of this belief. Authors like C.G. Jung, Mircea Eliade, Rudolph Otto, Spengler... and their work are the main source of information, inspiration and pride. But certainly, Joseph Campbell rises upon the rest as my guide throughout the history of religions.
This is a powerful source of inspiration. The mysticism. And all that surrounds myths is certainly what makes us humans. We are all frightened or worried about the same things. Or have the same doubts. The cosmogonic themes will prevail until the mystery is solved. Meanwhile, what should we believe in? No. There's not a proper answer for this, and if there is one, is far from my grasp. But, none the less, trying to show and teach this art about our common ideologies it is worth a shot. Try to show that, even though they are not unique in their structure, their meaning is almost equal.
Tenemos en común mucho mas de lo que creemos. El sincretismo. Cómo las culturas interactundo unas con otras consiguen trabajar juntas olvidando sus diferencias para un bien común. Este será la piedra angular de mi trabajo. Además, cómo los mitos juegan un papel fundamental en la historia del hombre y todo el arte que quedó latente en ellos. Y que aun lo está. El estructuralismo esta presente como fuente de esta creencia. Escritores como C.G. Jung, Mircea Eliade, Rudolph Otto, Spengler... y su trabajo son la principal fuente de información, inspiración y orgullo. Pero cabe destacar por encima de todos a Joseph Campbell como mi guía a través de la historia de las religiones.
Esta es una poderosa fuente de información. El misticismo. Y todo lo que rodea los mitos es, ciertamente, lo que nos hace humanos. Todos tenemos miedo o nos preocupan las mismas cosas. O tenemos las mismas dudas. Los temas cosmogónicos prevalecerán hasta que se descubra el misterio. Pero de momento, ¿en que deberíamos creer? No. No hay una respuesta correcta para esto, y si hay alguna, esta lejos de mi alcance. Sin embargo, puedo intentar mostrar y enseñar con este arte sobre nuestras ideologías afines. Intentar mostrar que, aunque diferentes en su estructura su contenido es el mismo.
